In other news Penny Arcade has issued an open challenge to game devs in the area. The challenge… TABLE TENNIS. We are holding our own internal tournament to see which seven players will compete against the Penny Arcade champs. Should be fun.

Still trying to ink stuff. Not going well, but there is a bright side.
When I doodle with no intention to finish I tend to not draw an entire character. I’ll draw a head or a bust. Now that I’m trying to “finish” drawings I’m drawing entire bodies. I like this because drawing an entire character is uncomfortable for me. Granted, I’m not branching out in my drawing of anatomy, but I’m drawing what I’m comfortable drawing more often. I’m hoping this leads to more exploration, reference and ultimately a better understanding of anatomy. We’ll see…
Here’s another big guy. Yeah, I’m stuck on big guys with little legs… sue me.

I can’t seem to do anything but doodle. One of these days I’ll actually start taking drawings a bit further. I think the problem is that I just vomit ideas onto the page. I have absolutely no organization when it comes to drawing. That’s why I’ll never be able to paint.
I speaking of… I looked at one of the most amazing websites today. Dice Tsutsumi. WOW!!! He’s pretty amazing with a brush, be it real or digital. I would, if I were you, go check out his amazing work right away! Make sure to check out his ‘workshp’ tab. That’s the kind of organization I lack. I would try what he put up there, but I would go crazy in the process… I’m far too ADD for that. Well without further ado, here is his website:

So here’s a page I did this morning. I’m hoping that I’ll put up some of these doodles in an inked state. My good friend Gabe (see three posts below) has agreed to give me an inking tutorial, which I’m extremely excited about. I just did some doodles to practice on.

So I was looking at Kevin Dart’s web page and noticed that one of his favorite artists is Tom Oreb. Not being familiar with him I decided to check it out. I was baffled by his amazing lines. Go here to see more of this:
Cartoon Modern has some amazing drawings, sketches and frames from early, amazing toons. I would suggest that anyone who’s interested in not just animation, but design in animation go check out Cartoon Modern.

I realized I never posted this. I was doing this as an invitation card for my son’s first birthday party, but ended up not using/finishing it. I don’t usually take things all the way to color. I’m far too lazy for that. But I figured this would be fun one to post since it has the separate stages.
