So I made an Avatar for AM. If you haven’t seen me in a while… or ever… I’m looking a BIT like Jamie Hyneman.

And here’s my mentor’s IMDB page. Can’t wait for Q&A!!!
See ya!

Quick post meeting doodle.

Quick sketch at lunch time.

Here’s a link to my art lead’s demo reel. Yeah… I know… it’s dumb. HE SITS RIGHT NEXT TO ME! I feel like I should be better than I am.
Josh Riley. A.K.A. Jerk Face.
He’s actually a very pleasant man.
Technically this one is an after lunch doodle. The art team is recovering after a deadline and I had some time to do this. I’m not happy with it, but I think I’m starting to appreciate the Wacom tablet. I had been using a Graphire, but the intuos is so much easier to use. To me at least.

Haven’t been uploading to Flickr lately because I ran out of space. I have to wait until I can get a premium member ship or I’ll have to find another place to upload images. I had been doing it through WordPress, but there is a finite amount of space there too. If you have any suggestions short of doling out the cash let me know.
Quick one to test out a new tablet. I’m sooooooo bad with tablets! I just can’t get past the drawing in one place and the result in another. The disconnect is too much for me to handle. I guess I’ll have to get a cintiq. I wish I could do more, but work is pretty busy right now. Hopefully I’ll get some stuff up soon.

Does anyone else think the human shown in the trailer is reminiscent of Otomo’s designs? I love it, but I wondered if I was the only one who thought so.

Hmm…
Looks awesome though!

So I just got Pierre Alary’s 2006 and 2007 sketchbooks. Some of the most inspirational material I’ve seen! I absolutely love it. If you don’t have them you should most definitely pick them up. I can’t stop looking at them. Even when I’m on the can… or should I say… especially when I’m on the can. Juss git um. You’ll see.
I can already tell that looking at his drawings have “loosened” my drawings up quite a bit. I just have to take care to not have my stuff look too much like his now. NOT that I can draw as well as Pierre, but there is a distinct style that I want to be inspired by and use to some extent, but not completely bite. I’m not making sense.
Pick them up from Stuart Ng. They are great!
Did this a while ago before I went to lunch.

I just picked up two issues of Teen Titans Year One. Karl Kerschl is the penciller and is really great. It’s been a while since I’ve “single issued” it. It’s rough story-wise. The two issues develope one main story idea. If I’d only picked up one I’m not sure I would’ve kept going on account of the story alone, but Kerschl does a great job of illustrating. I’ll have to find more of his stuff. I’m thinking I should’ve just waited for the graphic novel to come out, but oh well, now I just have to get down to the comic shop every couple of months… which I do anyways. For the most part.
Check out the comic. Check out the blog.
I just picked up some art supplies and a new sketch book. I’ll post some stuff here early next week.
I was talking to Bobby P. a little bit about Pierre Alary and I ended up frantically searching for everything I could find on him. I don’t speak French, but I’ve watched these a few times. He’s such a great artist! The videos have been up for over a year now so it may be old news to you, but if you haven’t seen them… enjoy. I really want to buy his stuff. For now I have only his blog. Check it. I know you already have though…
